A briefing in connection with the ensuing General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 was held at DC's Conference Hall Kohima on 8th February 2023.
DC & DEO Kohima, Shanavas C IAS while briefing the Police Observer, General Observer, and Expenditure Observer for Kohima district on the district electoral profile stated that the district has six Constituencies under ST with a total number of 184 Polling Stations, which included 69 Polling Stations under Urban and 115 under Rural. DC also highlighted the status of manpower, activities on IT Applications and training, formation of district cells & committees, vulnerability mapping, management plan, election materials, strong rooms, and counting halls.
Superintendent of Police Kohima, Imnalensa IPS also gave a PowerPoint presentation on the ongoing activities being carried out by the Police Department in connection with the upcoming General Election. He also highlighted the vulnerability mapping and identified vulnerable Hamlets constituency-wise, details of firearms as per NDAL/ALIS, police station-wise arms license for Kohima district, pre-poll deployment of CAPF, Flying Squad teams, etc. SP informed that The Kohima Police from 18th January 2023 till 8th February 2023, made seizures amounting to Rs. 3,11,99,835/- have been seized during the period.
