Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS visited the vegetable/ fruit wholesale market at Murgipatti this morning 8th July 2020, to oversee whether the guidelines to contain Corona virus are practiced.

The DC warned the wholesale traders that there would be no option but to close down the market again if the people do not maintain discipline and asked them to choose the option. He reminded that vegetable wholesale market was shifted to super market for some time due to convenience of availability of space for trade and also parking, however since the traders expressed inconvenience due to want of shed and other logistics it was again shifted to the original market at Murgipatti. Therefore, Kinchi directed the whole sellers to ensure that all their labourers and customers wear masks covering the nose and mouth, maintain social distance and to practice hand hygiene. He further asked them to keep soap and water for washing hands. DC also directed them for keeping more barricades for ensuring social distancing. He also advised the GB and DMC to keep on announcing and reminding every morning to the business community of Murgipatti about the safety protocols to be maintained by each individual through megaphone and assured to arrange the same from his end. Kinchi further informed that he would come for surprise checking any day and cautioned that the market would be closed down if precautions are not taken.

DC was accompanied by DPRO Dimapur along with her announcement team who makes announcement in strategic locations, GB and his team from Murgipatti and Ganesh from DMC.
