Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, has informed that in exercise of power under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 movement of private vehicles shall be allowed to ply on ODD-EVEN system in the declared containment zones of 1) Kohima Municipal Council and 2) New Capital Complex.
- ODD Numbered Vehicles.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (Eg.1, 3, 5, 7, 9) shall be allowed to ply.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (Eg 2, 4, 6, 8, 0) shall be allowed to ply.
Violation of the aforementioned order will be liable to be penalised under Section 177 & 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988.
This Order shall come into force with effect from 7:00 PM of 5th May 2021 and enforced for a period of 7 (seven) days.
