In a circular, the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, notifies that in view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions and the recent cloudburst, several locations across Longleng District have reported incidents of rock falls, mudslides, landslides, sinking and damage of road rendering travel hazardous.

In the interest of public safety, the DC informed that all residents are advised to avoid venturing out unless absolutely necessary and minimise movement, particularly along vulnerable roads and landslide-prone areas, until the situation improves.

The public is further advised to void all non-essential travel. Exercise extreme caution while travelling, especially during period of heavy rainfall and avoid travel through vulnerable stretches prone to landslides, rock falls and road subsidence.

It also stated to follow advisories and directions issued by the District Administration and other concerned authorities, and to immediately report any incidents of landslides, road blockages or emergencies to the District Administration or the nearest authority.

The District Administration is closely monitoring the situation and is making every effort to restore normalcy at the earliest. The cooperation of all citizens is solicited in ensuring the safety of the public.
