With reports of price hike being reported in Mon Town and other parts of the District especially during the present lockdown, although measures to control the same had been initiated, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS, on 22ndMay 2021 issued an order reiterating that any individual or groups selling goods/essential commodities beyond the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) shall be penalised and their trade license confiscated. 

Further, the public have been requested to get receipt for all goods purchased.
