DC PEREN IMPOSES SECTION 144 CrPC

Due to the prevailing situation in connection with the indefinite bandh called by the United Zeliangrong Youth Federation has taken a violent turn and has become a threat to public peace and tranquility. The Deputy Commissioner in the capacity of District Magistrate is fully satisfied of the grounds for taking precautionary measures in the form of passing prohibitory order under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), 1973 to ensure that public peace and tranquility is maintained.

Therefore, after due consideration of the prevailing situation, DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS, District Magistrate Peren, Nagaland, in exercise of the powers conferred upon under Section 144 of the CrPC, 1973 promulgate the prohibitory order imposing curfew, prohibiting assembly of more than 5 (five) persons and carrying of any lethal weapons and arms in the areas as specified under:-

  1. Jalukie Town and adjoining areas.
  2. Peren District HQ/ Kejanglwa-Jalukie-Peren tri junction to Mhainamtsi-Dimapur-Kohima tri junction.
  3. From Samziuram Village Gate towards Jalukie Town.

The order comes into immediate effect until further order.
