Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo visited the bamboo workshop initiated and sponsored by 32nd Assam Rifles on 18th January 2021, accompanied by President Sumi Kükami hoho and town GBs.

In a brief interaction with the trainees, DC, having a proper knowledge with the background he possessed previously with the bamboo mission, talked about the good quality of bamboos we naturally have and significance of the usages of bamboos saying that, the world now stressing so much on biodegradability of commonly used materials in our day to day life, bamboo crafts could be the next big thing and would definitely be a source of livelihood for those who had the will to produce the crafts with sincerity and hardwork. He also thanked and appreciated the Assam rifles for providing a platform, to showcase their talents, skills and developing a sense of dignity of labour, mainly to the younger generations of the district.

President Sümi Kükami hoho, Kashito Yeptho, talking to media persons, expressed satisfaction and gratitude to all those involved in the initiative. According to  Major, 32nd Assam rifles, Rahul Choudhary, the main aim of the programme was to reach the youths of the district who stayed idle and to provide them a platform of livelihood by refabricating the talents already gifted naturally in them. He also encouraged all to continue to work hard to bring out the best in each and every trainee.

The workshop which began on 11th and scheduled to end on 23rd Jan, is being availed by a total of 51 trainees under the instructors, Ghühevi Khuju and Henivi Aye.
