To ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election 2023, the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO) accompanied by the Superintendent of Police held a consultative meeting with the Village Council Chairman and Council members of NYIRO Range comprising of 9 (Nine) villages namely, Yanthamo, Yimkha, Longla, Longidang, Rezumyan, Niroyo, Longsachung, Tsantsupen and Okheyan village on 14th February 2023 at Yanthamo village.

DC & DEO, Ajit Kumar Ranjan (IAS) has recently conducted a similar coordination meeting with village leaders of Chukitong Range, Longsa, and Wokha village, to contain the law and order situation in the district and for the smooth conduct of the election.

During the meeting the DC and SP appealed to the village leaders to educate the public in their respective villages not to indulge in any election-related violence, also reminded them of their roles and responsibilities to ensure that no untoward incident happens.

The village functionaries also assured their fullest cooperation, and abide by the laid down rules and regulations of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election.
