Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Anoop Kinchi IAS convened a meeting today 29th June 2020, comprising of Director CIHSR, DMC, SDO (C) Dimapur, representative from different civil societies and deliberated on matters with regard to COVID-19.

In the meeting, several members felt the need for community participation wherein the youth, Hohos, churches leaders, village councils needs to be trained and sensitised who in turn could educate the masses, in order to contain the spread of COVID 19.

DC Dimapur has directed DMC Administrator, Albert Ezung and SDO(c) ZubenthungNgullie for chalking out a training program so that training can be imparted to all concern during the next 15 days by drawing human resources from different civil societies who has expressed willingness to extent their services. Further, Anoop said that mechanism would be devised for reaching out to the Quarantine centers through various means. 

Director CISHR, Dr.Sedevi suggested for developing small Task Force and mapping it out for more coverage to the communities. "We should learn not to be teachers but facilitators," Dr Sedevi observed.

Chairman Christian Forum Dimapur, Rev.Moses while pointing out on the issues of stigmatization and discrimination in the prevailing situation, emphasised on the need for educating the community. He also dwelt on the importance of social media platforms for creating awareness to the people about the Do's and Dont's with regard to COVID 19.

In the meeting, all the civil societies expressed their willingness to work together in coordination with the District administration Dimapur.
