The District Level Padayatra under the Sardar @150 Unity March Campaign was successfully held in Dimapur on 31st October 2025, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The event was organized by MeraYuva Bharat (MY Bharat) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in coordination with the District Administration, Dimapur, and Dimapur Police, with support from various line departments.
The rally was flagged off by Khrusa Keyho, Additional DCP, Dimapur from City Tower and culminated at Dimapur Government College, covering a distance of around three Kilometers. More than 300 students, including NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and youth club members, participated in the march carrying messages of unity, discipline, and national integration.
A short programme was held at Dimapur Government College following the march. The event featured a cultural performance by MGM College students, speeches by youth representatives Bendangnaro and Joilem Konyak, and an address by K. Manikanta, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, who highlighted the objectives of the campaign and the values of Sardar Patel’s leadership.
Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang in his address, commended the efforts of the youth and participants, emphasizing the importance of unity, integrity, and perseverance as exemplified by SardarVallabhbhai Patel. Drawing lessons from Patel’s life, Dr. Chang urged the youth to embrace challenges, act with honesty, and uphold strong leadership guided by moral principles.
He stated that if the youth have determination and courage like Sardar Patel, they will be able to overcome all struggles and achieve their goals. He highlighted Patel’s life as an example of how perseverance, integrity, and unity can build a strong and cohesive nation.
Dr. Chang also reminded the gathering of Sardar Patel’s monumental achievements, including his leadership in uniting over 560 princely states, his role in establishing the All India Services, and his vision for a united and efficient India.
The programme concluded with a memento presentation, a vote of thanks by K. Manikanta.
