DISHA MEETING HELD AT CHUMOUKEDIMA
District Development Coordination Monitoring committee meeting was held at DC's Conference Hall, Chumoukedima on 31st March 2023.
The coordination meeting chaired by ADC Medziphema was held to ensure better coordination with the elected representatives and officials from the district. The members deliberated on developmental issues in the Chumoukedima district.
At the meeting, DISHA Chairperson, Tokheho Yepthomi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) highlighted that Central Government intends to make all the CSS transparent. He said that in the past many CSS all over the States could not complete as per the schedule and also failed to give the details of work distribution for which the policy has changed that any department wherever sanctioned CSS project fund is provided until and unless the 1st installment completion report is given, the central government will not give the subsequent installment.
He pointed out that from 2023, the Central Government does not allow any State to keep money in their civil deposit. Whatever is due to the department, the State Finance department had to release to the department and the department has to disclose the bill. Hence, he urged the respective departments who are yet to submit to work in an efficient and time-bound manner.
Further, he encouraged the departments to coordinate with one another to effectively implement CSS in the right direction in ensuring that the implementation of the scheme in each village contributes towards a better outcome. Also, he requested the departments in identifying certain districts where both the government and the farmers benefit. He encouraged the departments to reach out to people in rural areas and sensitize them about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from ADC, Medziphema. Various departments presented departmental activities and achievements on papers where the chairperson deliberated on issues presented by the officials.
