District level Implementation Committee for mobilizing the unorganized workers and undertaking registration drives in Peren District for enrollment of such workers on eShram portal (National Database for Unorganized Workers) was held on 2nd November, 2021 at DC's conference hall, Peren under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS. 
Assistant Labour Commissioner Peren, Temwang Konyak said the Ministry of Labour & Employment has developed  eSHRAM portal (www.eshram.gov.in) for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers, which will be seeded with Aadhar and it is also the first ever National Database of Unorganized Workers. 
While speaking on e-shram portal, Konyak stated that the Ministry of Labour & Employment is continuously working on improving life and dignity of Labour force of country by protecting & safeguarding the interest of workers, promotion of welfare and providing social security to the Labour force both in organized and unorganized sectors.
Any workers who is working in unorganized sector and aged between 16-59, is eligible to register on the portal e.g. migrant workers, gig workers, platform workers, agricultural workers, MGNREGA workers, Fishermen, Milkmen, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Street Vendors, Domestic workers, Rickshaw pullers and other workers engaged in similar other occupations in the unorganized sector, Konyak added. He also briefed the house on the key objectives of e-Shram, modes of registration, documents required for registration in e-Shram, benefits for unorganized workers registering on e-Shram Portal. He requested the line departments to spread awareness to the beneficiaries and encourage them to get register inorder to avail the benefits.
Later, a round of discussion hour was also held where doubts and queries were raised and clarified.
