District Level Multi-Stakeholder meeting on COVID-19 was held at CHC Jalukie Conference Hall on 18th May 2022 under the chairmanship of District Coordinator, ISRN (Indian Social Responsibility Network), Vilie Rhetso.
State Coordinator (ISRN), Martha Dukru while giving a brief introduction on ISRN said, it is a National Level Non-Governmental Organisation and is also an implementing agency supporting the Medical Department that is working to amplify the COVID-19 vaccination programme in six selected Districts of Nagaland.
Speaking on how to eradicate hesitancy among the people in high-resistant areas, she said, it is the social responsibility of all the local leaders to understand the present scenario of COVID-19 and work collectively and spread awareness on the effectiveness of the vaccine as well as educate the people who are misinformed & mislead by various false news. Further, she also highlighted the different types of field activities conducted under IRSN.
ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang in his short speech expressed concern over the low percentage of vaccination coverage in the district. He said, unless every individual avail the vaccine, there are chances of upsurge in COVID-19 cases again and with the intervention of ISRN, he hoped that the vaccination drive in the district would be a success. The ADC in his speech also requested the stakeholders present in the meeting to spread an awareness on the importance of vaccination among the community with limited and right information.
Earlier, Dy. CMO Peren, Dr. Lanuakum highlighted the current status of vaccination coverage in the district. Short speeches were also delivered by Director of Pro Rural Society, Dr. Paul Lokho, Officials from John Snow India (JSI), Delhi, NZPO & ZMO President.
