The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting convened on November 6, 2023, at the DC conference hall in Kiphire.
The meeting was chaired by John Tsulise Sangtam, Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire.
During the meeting, the formation of verification committees for 59 Sitimi-Seyochung Assembly Constituency and 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for the year 2023-24 was discussed. The following members were inducted for the respective constituencies after obtaining members' approval. For 59 Sitimi-Seyochung AC, ADC Seyochung was designated as Convenor, with SDO (PWD) and DHO Kiphire as members. For 60 Pungro-Kiphire AC, ADC Pungro was appointed as Convenor, with SDO PWD and BDO Kiphire as members.
While reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the Kiphire Officers' Club requested that all heads of offices pay the registration fee of ₹2000/- and an annual membership fee of ₹1000/-, as decided in the last meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, John Tsulise, reminded the officers about their responsibility to attend DPDB meetings. He cautioned that repeated absences would be reported to the higher authorities. However, he mentioned that cases of officials on official trips or attending meetings outside the district or those with health issues should inform the Board in advance. DC Kiphire also urged Heads of Offices to delegate competent representatives in case they are unable to attend.
The meeting featured a presentation by the H&FW Department concerning their efforts to combat illnesses such as eye conjunctivitis and Dengue disease. DC Kiphire suggested that the department should organize further awareness programs in Kiphire town for the safety of the public. Additionally, the District Soil and Water Conservation Office staff from Kiphire delivered a PowerPoint presentation.
The DPDB members decided to hold the next meeting as a 'DPDB cum Picnic' outside Kiphire town.
