The District Sports Council Zunheboto organized a felicitation programme for Zunheboto District Podium finishers in the 2nd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022, 44th Inter District & State Open Badminton Championship, and other budding sports calibers from the district from Catch Them Young tournament, at DSCZ indoor stadium on 14th September 2022 with Advisor, School Education, and SCERT, K T Sukhalu as the special guest.
K T Sukhalu, while speaking at the felicitation programme, said that he was very happy to see the young athletes from the district with potential in sports and narrated how he was worried at first, seeing the tally of Zunheboto at the bottom but later he was pleasantly surprised to see the tally rise.
KT said one can also earn a livelihood through sports provided one is ready to walk the extra mile with discipline and consistency.
He appealed to elders to encourage their children to take up sports apart from education.
Nikito Tsuqu- consecutive two times gold medalist, (Boxing) while delivering a short speech, said that he was always proud to be born as naga and as Sumi, and even before joining boxing he had a zeal to do something good for the community and that today he could fulfill it through sports. He seeks to become better at his sports.
Earlier the program was chaired by DSCZ member Zhekugha Assumi, thanksgiving prayer was offered by Pastor SBCZ, Ghunato.
