Peren District Task Force& Join Action Committee (JAC) on COVID-19 meeting was held on 24th August 2020 at DC Chamber, District Headquarter Peren to discuss matter related to Covid-19 in the District.
The meeting started with the introduction of new members by DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS who is also the chairman of Peren DTF.
The DTF Meeting discussed on the issue of the ongoing restriction of Inter-district movement and while sharing public views and the implications of maintaining the restrictions, ADC, Jalukie Dr. Tinojonghsi Chang opined that the restrictions be lifted. After much deliberation the house decided to lift total restrictions in the District with effect from 27th August 2020 onwards. However, regulation of public movements will continue as per the standing Government orders and travel permit systems will continue to prevent uncontrolled public movements in the district till further notification.
Dr.Hedungkiebe DSO (Med) presented the Covid-19 status in the district and reported that 2 Persons turn out positive from contact tracing at Athibung but the contacts of the two persons are negative. He also proposed for a mass awareness & sanitization campaign in the district to prevent full blown covid-19 community spread. To ensure safety practices by active community participation the house entrusted Medical Department to work out a project for the campaign so as to instil the community minds to take care of themselves through students, business Organizations or church leaders. The DTF also directed the Sub-Divisional Task Force to continue efforts to spread awareness in their respective areas.
Survey report of proposal site for sustainable Covid hospital and Covid Care Centre which was conducted by Medical Department & NZPO members on the 20th of August 2020 as directed by the Technical Team was presented by Dy.CMO, Dr.Lanuakum. The report was supplemented by Dr.Hatling, CMO Peren & Kevipelie NZPO President. As the proposed site is found to be the most suitable options for sustainable management of COVID-19 cases in the district, the house unanimously approved the survey report and agreed to forward it to higher authority.
ADC, Jalukie Dr. Tinojongshi Chang also apprised the house about the financial status and its burdens especially in managing transportation, private hotels & Quarantine centres.
The issue of vehicle problems and sanitizing team to be manned by non medical personnel due to shortage of man power raised by the medical Department were kept for further course of actions.
DC also informed the members present in the meeting that upcoming DTF meeting will be called on need basis.
