A District Level Committee meeting was convened for the implementation of Clean India programme at the DC’s conference hall, Kohima on 30th September 2021.

State Director in-charge, NYKS, John Makhabo highlighting on the action plan of Clean India programme stated that the programme will be launched from 1st October till 31st October 2021.

Clean India programme has been planned under the aegis of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav celebration and with a view to mobilize public to participate voluntarily in this nationwide drive of waste collection and their deposal.

He mentioned that the objectives are to organize activities to clean waste mainly single use of plastic throughout the country, to organize in all 12 districts of Nagaland involving all segment of society, government organizations including PRIs, and NGOsand to make the programme a people's movement through "Jan Bhagidari" and propagate the mantra of 'Clean India, Safe India". He also added that the programme will cover 6 Lakh Villages of 744 Districts across the country in a duration of one month i.e from 1st October to 31 October 2021.
