Commemorating the 50 years formation, Dimapur Lotha Students Union (DLSU) held a two-day Golden Jubilee celebration that commenced on 14th October 2022 at Dimapur Government College auditorium under the theme Envisioning Radiant Posterity.

The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the DLSU flag by Advisor Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan.

Yanthan said celebrating 50 years is a significant milestone and the celebration was about remembering and lauding the pioneers for their contribution and upholding the good works that they have laid down.

He called upon them to ponder on how they can uphold their community through their actions and deeds. He also spoke on the importance of understanding their roots, history, and the land they were born and live. He also stressed the need to understand one's own culture and identity.

He said that besides seeking government, he also suggested that one can also opt for self-employment and being self-sustaining by being an entrepreneur. He said the people need to learn to be part of the change, broaden their understanding, adopt and bring change by being a globally responsible person and be a chain of change.

Greetings were delivered by Lotha Elie Ekhung Dimapur Chairperson Thechano M Kikon, and Lotha Youth Organization Dimapur President Nzanbemo Humtsoe.

At the celebration programme, the invocation prayer was proposed by Borlengri Lotha Baptist Church Pastor, Reverend Arhonthung Odyuo, welcome address was delivered by the organizing committee, Co-convenor Wobenthung Humtsoe, a song was presented by jubilee choir. The pioneers of the Lotha community, HSLC, and HSSLC merit students of the community were also felicitated.

Later, the vote of thanks was delivered by DLSU magazine secretary Kullu C Yanthan and benediction was proposed by Senjum Baptist Church, Roland T Ngullie.
