On the second day of the Tokhu Emong cum Mini Hornbill Festival, 2021 held at local ground, Wokha on 6th November 2021, with MLA, Dr. Chumben Murry as the special guest.

While extending Tokhu greeting, Dr. Murry said that it is a day and time to wish one another in friendship, forgiveness and thanksgiving. He called upon the younger generation to follow the rich cultural traditional practices which have been passed on by the forefathers and urged them to keep alive the identity and rich traditions alive.

Emphasising on the global warming, Dr. Murry said, climate change have long term shifts and effect in temperature and weather patterns, where he added that human activities and have been the main drive of climate change primarily due to the burning of fuel like coal, oil, gas and many other human made activities, and called for preservation our rich flora and fauna and protect our forest for a better tomorrow. As everyone is going through a hard time due to the pandemic, he called upon the citizens of the district to have the feeling of protection and preventive steps by following all COVID-19 protocols for the safety of everyone. Through the festival, he urged everyone to forgive and forget the short comings.

Highlights of the function included presentation of folk dance by Tsungki Village cultural group and folk song by Kumali Vontso. The programme was chaired by Secretary, Lothas Hoho Abenthung Ngullie.
