Dy.CM, Home and Road & Bridges who is also Minister In-charge for Wokha district on COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Y. Patton visited Primary Health Centre at Nyiro to ascertain the basic requirements on 30th April 2020.
While interacting with the public the Dy.CM thanked the public and Village Council member of Nyiro range for strictly following guideline to contain the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis. He also stated that, he has covered the whole Wokha district Health care centres and Nyiro PHC, being his last visit. He also stated that the State Government and also from his personnel level has distributed sufficient relief in the form of food grains and other essential commodities in the district during the lockdown period.
On learning that Nyiro PHC Medical Officer, GNM and Lab technician are performing their duty on contract basis, Patton has assured to take up the cases to the Government for early posting of the above mentioned posts.
As the particular Health centre is lacking parking area, Patton assured to contribute from his end for construction of parking facility and black topping of the approach road to the PHC centre. Further, Longsachung Village Health Care Center although up-graded to PHC, lack man power and infrastructure and the Deputy CM assured to pursue the matter at the government level.
Patton also informed that black topping of Wokha-Longidang road will commence right after lockdown period is lifted, however for the benefit of the area people, he also warned that there should not be any land owner issue so that developmental work is not hampered.
Later in the day on behalf of the Nagaland State BJP and party workers Y. Patton donated one fumigation machine which was handed over to Chief Medical Officer, Wokha. Patton also donated 200 liters of hypochlorite to the district and donated cash for refreshment for the health workers of PHC Chukitong, Nyiro and Englan.
The Dy. CM was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Orenthung Lotha, SP Wokha, Imtitoshi and CMO Wokha, Dr. C.W. Tungoe.
