Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y. Patton while speaking at the Lotha Officers Association (LOA) General Conference at Wokha on 8th July 2023, urged the Lotha officers wherever they are serving to give their best service to the people with sincerity and dedication as they are the ambassadors of the Lotha community, he urged the officers' forum for co-operation to bring change in their community.

On Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Patton said that the Nagaland State Government is doing its best to convince the Central Government to exempt implementation of the UCC in the tribal-dominated areas, where the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that not only the tribal’s dominated areas but UCC will be exempted in the Christian dominated areas as well. Patton also assured the LOA that the elected representative from the district will always extend support and cooperate with the association for the benefit of the community.

Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan highlighted that the members of LOA are the pillars of the Lotha society and therefore urged the members to remember God while carrying out their assigned duties, he encouraged the LOA members to take up their own responsibilities with commitment and dedication leaving a good footprint to be followed up by the upcoming generation.

Yanthan urged the administrative heads to be public friendly with a positive attitude which will ultimately embark a good remark from the people. He appealed to the members of LOA to collaborate with the Lotha legislators and also sought the advice and suggestion of the LOA members for good progress and development in the Lotha society. He said that the door is always open to extend all support and possibilities. The special guest highlighted the substance abuse, gambling, and other evil menace that is hampering society and therefore he urged the gathering to take positive steps in controlling the evil menace. He also highlighted that Wokha district will celebrate 50 years in December this year, earlier history of LOA was launched by Mhathung Yanthan.

            MLA, Y.M. Humtsoe stated that he is ever grateful to Deputy Chief Minister, Nagaland Y. Patton for initiating to meet and work together irrespective of any political parties for the betterment of the Lothas and Nagas as a whole. He encouraged the members of LOA that we should become one and work together for the upliftment of the younger generation. Humtsoe further appealed to the members of LOA to work diligently and selflessly for the welfare of society.

MLA, Achumbemo Kikon while addressing the gathering, quoted Otto Von Bismark “With bad laws and good civil servants, it’s still possible to govern, but with bad civil servants even the best possible laws can’t help", for which Kikon encouraged the Officers to work hand in hand with the elected members to bring about better development and progress.

Advisor to Chief Minister, Nagaland Dr. Chumben Murry in his speech focussed on cleanliness and civic sense citing the example of Singapore, he appealed to all sections of people to be law-abiding citizens and extend cooperation to the government for the growth and progress of our society.

President LOA, K. Libanthung Lotha (IAS) in his welcome address appealed to all the members of the LOA wherever they are posted to take it as a privilege because they may not get another time to serve the people there. "Give your best to the people so that the image of the Lotha community builds up," secondly, he said that Naga society is fragmented, "we should learn to forgive and forget to build a better society" he added.
