The Eastern Nagaland Legislatures and DUDA officials called on Union Minister for Ministry of DoNER, Culture & Tourism, G. Kishan Reddy on 25th August 2021 at New Delhi.

During the meeting, on behalf of the Eastern Nagaland Delegation, Minister, Pangnyu Phom apprised the Union Minister on the special economic package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Eastern Nagaland in the year 2018. Various proposals of the Eastern Nagaland development projects were submitted to DoNER Ministry for early sanction. The delegation also highlighted on the meeting between the NITI Aayog CEO and officials the day before at CEO’s office to remind him about the project proposal submitted to DoNER Ministry.

They also informed the Union Minister that the project proposal is approved by multidisciplinary committee headed by Ministry of Home Affairs. The Delegation strongly appealed the Union Minister to personally intervene and take up the matter for the interest of Eastern Nagaland development.

The Union Minister assured to the delegation that he will take up the matter at the earliest in the phase manner and asked the delegation to mention the top priority list for the first phase of the project proposal from the submitted list. He also mentioned that he will discuss with the Prime Minister and other line Ministry for early sanction.

The officials present during the meeting included Joint Secretary, Dy. Secretary DoNER Ministry & DRC Nagaland House, New Delhi.

Later, the delegation called on the Union Minister for Law & Justice, Kiren Rijiju at his official resident in New Delhi and briefed him about the Prime Minister special package for Eastern Nagaland area. They had requested him for kind intervene and support.

Union Minister responded positively and said that he will meet the DoNER Minister & other Colleague to support the project submitted in the Ministry of DoNER to get through on time.
