The enforcement squad of the District Tobacco Control cell, Dimapur (DTCC) on 21st September 2022, conducted a checking drive against the violators of the Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) Section- 6(a) & 6(b) which prohibits sale of tobacco products within a radius of one hundred yards of any educational institution.

The drive was conducted in areas where shops are located within 100 yards of schools in Diphupar village and also CIHSR. The joint team comprised of enforcement squad from Diphupar police station, Diphupar youth organization, CIHSR security personnel and DTCC staff.  Tobacco products were seized and destroyed, and violators were also challaned on the spot.
