To strengthen Section 6 (b) of COPTA 2003, an enforcement squad under National Tobacco Control Programme Mon went for an enforcement drive on sale of tobacco products near educational institutions at Mon Town on 19th September 2022. The team was led by District Nodal Officer NCTP Mon, Dr. I. Simon Sumi, EAC, Merishan Ezung and District Consultant NCTP Mon, Nyeamying Konyak.

10 shops were found selling tobacco products near educational institutes which were seized and destroyed by the team.
