Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, T Wati Aier inaugurated the EDC at GHSS, Kiphire in the presence of Joint Director Industries And Commerce, Youth Net Kohima, DEO and the Staffs of GHSS on 7th December 2021.

Aier in his short speech encouraged the students to make best use of the centre and to set education as the first priority in their life. He stated that skill development  is a process of identification of the skills gap in youth and providing training and employment benefits to them so he opined that EDC will benefits the students as well as those unemployed people and request them to use it wisely even in the days to come.

Joint Director, Industries & Commerce, Lipongse Sangtam lamented that the people in the State don't know what entrepreneurship is about. He added that many people only want to start their business on a large scale and fail. The DC appealed to all the students to take advantage of the EDC and look at the future and to be prepared. He stated that if anyone is interested in online entrepreneurship development course from recognised institutions, they can go for free admission and free course and right after completion of the course, they will be reverted back by the state Government. Sangtam urged all the students to take it as a privilege since the department will assist them financially in every aspect.

EDC is a hands on entrepreneurship mindset program which gives out participate an opportunity to develop essential mindset and skills through the experience of doing a real business.
