A farewell programme was held at the Office of the Commissioner, Kohima, on 30th June 2025 to honour K.S. Anden Konyak, IAS, Commissioner, Nagaland, on his retirement from government service. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioners, senior officers, colleagues from various departments, representatives of the Gaonburas, Dobashis, Village Guards, and staff of the Commissioner’s Office.

In his farewell address, K.S. Anden Konyak expressed deep gratitude to the officers and staff for organising the meaningful event. He thanked the senior officers, Deputy Commissioners, and all those present for their kind words, thoughtful gifts, and presence—describing them as lasting reminders of the friendships and journey shared over the years.

Reflecting on his 35-year-long career, he shared how the experiences had shaped him both professionally and personally. “This is not just a farewell to a career but to a journey of learning, growth, and service,” he said. He thanked his family for being a constant source of strength and support, and encouraged younger officers to serve with integrity, humility, and purpose. Quoting Matthew 5:9, he said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” He concluded by seeking forgiveness for any hurt caused during his service and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all.

On behalf of the Nagaland GBs Federation, the President shared that K. S. Anden Konyak had been a guiding force—offering support and direction over the years. “Under your leadership, we worked not just as a team, but as a family,” he said, expressing prayers for continued blessings in the future.

On behalf of the Nagaland Dobashis Association, the President stated that the community would always remember Konyak’s unwavering support. “Retirement is not the end but a new beginning—to continue contributing to society with wisdom and grace,” he remarked.

Commandant, Village Guards, Luensang, H. Mukem Shio, NPS, speaking on behalf of the Village Guards, said, “You guided this institution with strength and integrity. Your commitment to discipline and leadership helped shape the success we stand on today. We will always remember your personal warmth and steady leadership.”

Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, delivering a speech on behalf of the Deputy Commissioners, shared, “You were more than a Commissioner—you were a mentor. Your leadership, guidance, and personal investment in all of us made a lasting difference.”

Joint Commissioner, Nokchasashi, NCS, spoke on behalf of the officers and staff, highlighting the retiree’s achievements and the developments made under his leadership. He expressed appreciation for his guidance and wished him the very best.

Commissioner & Secretary, LR Department, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS, described Anden Konyak as a man of humility and determination. “God gave you the opportunity, and you fulfilled it well. We are grateful for all that you’ve done,” he said.

The programme was chaired by Warren Holohon Yepthomi, Deputy Commissioner (HQ), and it began with an invocation prayer by Mhonchumo S. Lotha, Pastor, Kohima Lotha Baptist Church.

Special performances included “The Long and Winding Road” by Moasunep K. Jingru, NCS, EAC, Chiephobozou, and “Grace Alone” by the Staff of the Commissioner’s Office.

The event concluded with presentations and heartfelt exchanges, marking the close of a long and impactful chapter in public service.
