Department of Fire & Emergency Services Kiphire commemorated "Fire Service Week" on 20th April at DC's conference hall, Kiphire. The programme was held under the theme - "Learn fire safety, increase productivity."

In her short speech, Apila President of Akehta Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang spoke on the importance of people's awareness to assist the firefighters during fire emergencies.

Tsarose Sangtam Officer in charge of Fire Station Kiphire delivered a PowerPoint presentation on 'Fire Prevention and Protection System.' This was followed by a discussion where basic fire fighting, the importance of fire fighting appliances & equipment, and the national building code were discussed.

Earlier, ASI Tejongol Sophie delivered the welcome address while the vote of thanks was said by Sevio Yhor and the programme was chaired by N/C Kevitsatuo Shuya. Drills and Demonstrations were also carried out in session two held at the helipad, where HoDs, CSOs leaders, and ward representatives participated.
