To update the technical knowhow and upgrade the soft skills of technical officers of the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Government of Nagaland successfully conducted a State Level training of trainers (ToT) on “Recent Advances in Fisheries Technology & Soft Skill Development” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY-2021-22) on 19th & 20th October 2022 at Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima.
The inaugural programme, the technical session was chaired by Ketusielie Angami Jt. Director, F&AR. Rongsennungba, Director F&AR requested the officials to actively participate in the training and presented a brief report on the achievements and status of Fisheries in the State, and Resource Person Dr. S.K Das Principal Scientist & Head Division of Animal & Fisheries Science, ICAR, Research Complex, NEH Region, Meghalaya highlighted topics on Recent Advances on Aquaculture & Fisheries with special reference to hilly states, fish nutrition, and feed technology and Recent advances in post-harvest technology. Resource person for the second technical session, International Ashoka Fellow awardee (2001), Neichute Doulo, Founder & CEO, of The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) highlighted Traits of true professionalism, communication skills, and the importance of time management. The valedictory function was chaired by Dr. Vimezo Kire Dy. Director F &AR which was graced by Former Director, F&AR. Kevisa Kense, IAS, Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland, Water Resources Department who in his speech encouraged all the officers to re-dedicate harder and work sincerity for the upliftment of the fisheries sector in Nagaland. The Vote of thanks was pronounced by Yushenlo Kent, Jt. Director F&AR. Altogether 80 Numbers of Technical officials from the District and Directorate attended the programme.
