A Flag Rally was organized at Noklak town in commemoration of the 75th year of India's Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) on 11th August 2021.

During the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, Hiazu Meru briefed the youth on how India got its Independence in 1947 from the British rule. The DC advised them to contribute in whatever possible way they can do for the country. He expressed hope that, along with the rest of the country, Noklak, the newest district of Nagaland, will also march towards the goals of progress and development. Meru expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers who had took part in the programme.

The flag rally started at main town and proceeded to DC’s office complex where a short programme was held.

Meanwhile, plantation drive along the roadsides of Noklak town was also conducted to mark the occasion.

The programme was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Tuensang (Noklak Unit), Nagaland in collaboration with Noklak District administration, with SDO (Civil) C.Phuniang and EAC Sadar, Noklak, P.Pukha Lam as officers in-charge.
