The Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Wokha under Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Wokha organized a one-day free medical camp on 27th November 2022 at Tiyi Hall, Wokha.
The free medical camp is a part of the outreach programme which was conducted in collaboration with the All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA), ISRN/Non-Link Workers Scheme, District AIDS Control Unit, Mobile ICDS, and National Vector Born Diseases control programme.
President ACVA, Renpithung Ngullie said under the All Commercial Vehicle Association there are six (6) active units under ACVA namely Auto Union, Taxi (ANTA, Wokha Unit), Truck Union, Bus union, Mini Truck and Tata mobile/Pick-up where he thanked the medical department for allowing ACVA to avail the free medical camp targeting the drivers/handyman acknowledging them as frontline workers. Meanwhile, he also appealed to the medical department to provide free medical camp during their foundation day (17th May) which is observed annually.
UPHC, Wokha Consultant, Oponthung Kingken while apprising the gathering during the short programme held before the start of the medical camp said this free medical camp is a part of the monthly activity under the Outreach programme to reach out to the citizens of Wokha town to provide free treatment and also provide free medicines and vaccination and stated this time UPHC has targeted the members of the ACVA as they are always engaged in doing social service and don’t get time to even go for normal medical check-up for this reason the department today has focussed to allow the frontline workers.
Members from ACVA of all units comprising of the vehicle owners, drivers, and handymen, and other general public attended the free medical camp, during the camp free medical check-ups, free medicines, and vaccination of various kinds was provided to the attendees. The medical camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Temjen AO, Dr. Thunjamo supported by nurses and staff from UPHC, Wokha.
