Advisor for School Education and SCERT K.T Sukhalu inaugurated GHS up-gradation to newly GHSS Pughoboto in presence of MLA Y. Vikheho Swu on 18TH June 2022.
Advisor K.T Sukhalu, who was the special guest, unveiled the foundation stone and called upon the students to discover new things and become distinguished persons. He asked them to listen and learn from their parents and teachers with respect. He mentioned that the 'destiny of a child is in the classroom'. The Advisor urged the student community not to engage too much with mobile. He said the government is willing to set up more GHSS as long as the enrollment is up to the mark with good results.
He also added that the cost of private education has catapulted and it is the priority for the parents to build a strong foundation for their children with facilities that the government has provided within their doorsteps. Informing to GBs and elders that it is their responsibility to promote and support the school faculties, Sukhalu also said "unless our children's foundation is strong, our students wouldn't compete with the other students from the state- be it in NPSC, UPSC, and others exam." He informed that the enhancement Grant, SAMAGRAHA Shiksha is providing funds and teaching equipment. He assured the posting of PGTs as early as possible and start the higher secondary soon. He congratulated the school on the achievement.
MLA Y. Vikheho Swu expressed gratitude to the Advisor for the newly upgraded status. He urged the landowners not to hamper the government development activities and also requested to Department to restore the downgraded GHS under the Pughoboto sub-division. He highlighted how this up-gradation was initiated and approved by the government through SDPDB Pughoboto.
Principal Director School Education, Thavaseelan K IAS congratulated the Pughoboto people and called upon them to continue to be focused and work hard. He said several challenges and issues in the department are being resolved on a timeline and asked them to extend support for multiple projects improvement for the school teachers and other mission components. He urged the parents to go forward with patience to bring success.
Director for School Education, Nagaland, Wonthungo Tsopoe said everyone needs quality education. He said Education is a weapon and to can change society. He said after a few weeks the department is going to honour the Headmaster, Headmistress, and teachers for their good performance. He requested Public that the School Education department can't survive alone rather government needs the public support.
Others who spoke on occasion included ADC Tiamern Chang and Principal Director H&FW (Rtd) Dr. Sukhato A Wotsa.
The school was established in 1945 and with the approval of NBSE started the HSLC center in the year 2017.
Executive Secretary SABAK, Pughoboto, Tovishe Shohe did the dedication. The welcome address was delivered by Pughoboto Town Adoch Town council Hokqihe Sheqi. The program was chaired by GHS Headmistress Keyeshe Sema and the vote of thanks was delivered by President Sumi Aphyumi Hoho, Inva Swu.
