Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan graced the auspicious occasion of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Shree Shree Shiv Mandir in Tsithrongse Village, Chumoukedima.
The event took place at Singrijan Rangapahar on the 23rd of August, 2023. The ceremony began with the singing of the National Anthem upon the Governor's arrival, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp to inaugurate the 7-day Shiv Mahapuran Katha.
Addressing the gathered devotees and attendees, Governor Ganesan expressed his delight at participating in the significant milestone of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Shree Shree Shiv Mandir. The temple, established in 1962, stands as one of the oldest religious institutions in the state. The temple's remarkable history tells the story of its construction at the very spot where the sacred Shivalinga was discovered.
Governor Ganesan highlighted that the temple has long served as a sanctuary for countless devotees from within the state and beyond, who gather each year to celebrate Shivratri. Beyond its religious significance, the temple committee has undertaken numerous initiatives to positively impact society. Daily charitable activities are organized, and the temple premises also house a Gurukul, offering free education in Sanskrit and Vedic mantras to facilitate meaningful worship. The Governor commended the dedication of countless souls, committee members, and devotees who contributed to organizing this grand celebration.
Governor Ganesan urged the attendees to use this celebration as an opportunity to combat social, economic, and political evils. He called for united efforts to eradicate crimes against women, children, and the marginalized, address issues like poverty and hunger, and strive for justice and harmony in society. He encouraged everyone to seek wisdom from Lord Shiva and extended his best wishes to Shree Shree Shiv Mandir and its committee.
The event's highlights included the inauguration of the renovated Shiv Mandir and the unveiling of SABANANP, a construction undertaken by Chandu Agarwal and family in loving memory of their parents. The program featured a Sanskrit welcome song by Gurukul children, a presentation on the heritage history of Shiv Mandir by Devindra Rana, a captivating Gorkha dance performance by the Singrijan - Khopanala Youth Association, and an expression of gratitude by Tezu Pradhan, GB of Singrijan Village. Short speeches were delivered by T. Sangtam, the Head GB of Tsithrongse Village, as well as other dignitaries including DCP Chumoukedima, Muneesh, IPS and Advisor to the Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS. Distinguished guests and invitees graced the occasion.
