In pursuant to the High Court Order Dt.30.06.2021 passed in PIL (Suo Moto) No. 1/2021, Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao stated that shopkeepers and vegetables vendors being vulnerable section of the society and are not only at risk of contracting COVID-19 but are also potential spreader of the virus due to the nature of their profession and that priority for COVID-19 vaccination must be given to these particular sections of the community.

He has directed all the Chief Medical Officer/ Medical Superintendent of all districts to take necessary steps to ensure fast-track vaccination of the above mentioned section of the community on priority.
