Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Razouvolie Dozo formally launched the Honey Project and Piggery Breeding Unit under the flagship of ICICI Foundation, Rural Livelihood on the theme, 'For Sustainable Livelihood' at old Runguzu village, Phek on 26th April 2022.

Addressing as the special guest, Dozo assured full cooperation and support towards the project. He expressed his gratitude to the ICICI Foundation for selecting the area and said that the project would benefit the villagers and also asked them to render their time and contribute for the upliftment of the economy and livelihood of the people.

The DC emphasized that the company was not for business purposes, but for the welfare of the people. He shared his own past experience of breeding and rearing piglet. Dozo urged agri & allied departments to come up with innovative programmes for economic growth of the rural areas. He urged the people not to depend on subsidy alone but to work hard.

Project Manager, Pumgouthang, while highlighting the project urged the ICICI Foundation to facilitate and ensure for better quality livelihood in the future. The funding agency was confident that beneficiaries would do well in the project.

Development Officer, Kukhrolo Lasuh said the area is suited for honey and piggery breeding with climate and flora availability.

The launching programme was attended by neighbouring villages along with beneficiaries and Chakhesang Youth Front. Honey rearing boxes were also distributed by the Deputy Commissioner. He also visited the piggery site and had interaction with the people.

The DC also inaugurated the Daily Market for the Chozuba Town in the presence of public leaders and administration of Chozuba division on the same day.
