A three-day Hospitality Training for homestays is currently in progress at Peren Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Centre in New Peren. This training, taking place from October 16th to 18th, 2023, is being organized by the Peren District Administration and the Peren District Skill Committee, in collaboration with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and GHE Impact Ventures. SIDBI has generously funded this essential training program.

Vineet Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Peren, inaugurated the event and conveyed in his inaugural speech that this training will significantly enhance the knowledge and skills of existing homestays. It will empower them to effectively manage their homestays and rural destinations. He emphasized that the primary aim and objective of this training is to provide existing homestays with formalized training in aspects such as guest services, hospitality, registration, and gastronomy, ultimately contributing to the promotion of tourism in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar stressed the integral role that homestays play within the community, providing economic and social support to the rural population.

The inaugural program also saw valuable insights from Simarpreet Kaur and Dinesh Menaria of GHE Impact Ventures, who highlighted the importance of homestay skills in bolstering rural tourism. Lily Lotha, Director of RSETI, presented the welcome speech, and Rameez Roshan MGNF, Peren, expressed gratitude through a vote of thanks. The program was presided over by Athuana, RSETI.
