Angami Women Organization and Angami Students' Union felicitated Angami HSLC and HSSLC toppers on 18th June 2022 at AWO Conference Hall, Kohima.
Speaking at the program, IG Fire & Emergency Services and President, AGOK, Neilasa Sopfü appreciated the parents for their constant prayers and support of their children throughout their preparation for the exams. He urged the student toppers to maintain consistency and dedication in their studies. "Hard work, perseverance, and sheer determination are the most important factors for a person to become successful in life".
He said the HSLC exam is the most crucial as it decides a person's career of who he or she wanted to become in life. Likewise, a person's career is decided on how he or she sacrificed for four-five years after passing HSSLC, he added.
He also challenged the student toppers as well as the parents present to preserve one's culture and identity in this fast-changing world. He said we are known to others through our culture and tradition like the way we use our languages, costumes, and practices.
He also highlighted some of the initiatives undertaken by the AGOK, particularly in the field of education, and encouraged them not to be disheartened in their studies due to financial constraints. He also added that every profession is great if that is greatly pursued with hard work and dedication. Therefore, he urged them to follow their passion with dedication and sincerity to achieve their goal to bring laurels not only to our community but also to Nagas as a whole.
