In order to take stock of the district to contain the spread of COVID-19 Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Imnatiba who is also the legislator in-charge of Longleng visited the district on 30th May 2020 and held emergency meeting with District Task Force COVID-19 at the war room DC office, Longleng.

Addressing the District Task Force Imnatiba lauded the Medical fraternity, district administration, police, NGOs, Churches and other frontline workers who are constantly rendering their services to contain and control the spread of COVID-19 in the midst of various obstacles and criticism.  

Asserting that COVID-19 is going to stay with us till the vaccine and medicines are available he appealed to the DTF to comeup with sensitization programs to educate the uninformed sections of the people in the grassroots level through local dialect and remove the fear psychosis, doubts and rumours of the virus. He also pointed out that as responsible citizen we the educated must know how to protect ourselves from the virus by strictly adhering to the SOP of the Government and contain the spread of virus.

Imnatiba informed that the state government has decided to install Tru Nat machine in every district and is expected to reach by the second week of June.  He also informed that posting of Anesthesia doctor for Longleng will report shortly in the district. The Advisor, Industries & Commerce donated Rs. 50,000/- to the DTF for COVID 19 Longleng.

CMO Longleng Dr. Obangjungla highlighted on COVID-19 activities of the district and  apprised the Advisor about Makeshift hospital, Quarantine centres and testing samples sent to Kohima while Dr. Lhouvizotuo Belho, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Longleng highlighted the infrastructure development of district COVID-19 hospital, Longleng.

Pichano Kikon EAC Headquarter & Liaison Officer COVID-19 highlighted on  the status of returnees of the district who have already returned and those yet to return from across the country. She also briefed on food management for quarantine centres by the DTF, civil societies and contributions from various organisations and individuals. She informed that cooking is volunteered by the women wings of the civil societies. 

Superintendent of Police, Yanithung Ezung informed the Advisor on sealing of interstate boundaries and check gates setup at various places, deployment of security in the Quarantine centres and overall law and order situation in the district. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, M. Shayung Phom.
