Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMTC) led by Ravinesh Kumar, FA (NDMA), Anil Kumar Singh, Under Secretary Rural Housing Division, Department of Rural Development, and Ankit UmRao Assistant Executive Engineer (MORTH) visited Wokha District on 13th December 2022 to assess the damage and loss that occurred due to various disaster like floods, landslides, etc.
Ravinesh Kumar, while briefing the Wokha District Management members said the two central groups will visit 6 (six) districts on their two-day visit to the State and do an eyesight/ spot assessment and report the findings to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs for Central Assistance to the State from National Disaster Respond (NDR) fund.
Kumar also said that the team will visit damaged sites to have an idea and how best to assist the state.
Deputy Commissioner and Chairman Wokha District Management Authority Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS, highlighted the damages to infrastructures, roads connectivity within Wokha district, floods, landslides, Human-Elephants conflict, and Fire incidents, etc that has occurred in the district.
The team also visited District Veterinary Hospital, at Saron colony Wokha for spot verification and assessment, where the hospital building is on the verge of collapse due to landslides and erosion. The team after spot verification took note of the situation.
