Inauguration of CSR Initiatives Unnati Skill Centre Kohima, UNXT, and Innovation studio was held at the State Capital Secretariat Conference Hall on 12th January 2023.

Nagaland Chief Secretary J. Alam, IAS graced the inaugural function. He stated that in the present scenario, most people in Nagaland depend on government services and the agricultural sector. Chief Secretary referring to the Unnati skill innovation asserted that young people in Nagaland are enthusiastic to learn, and given the platform, they would perform positively. J. Alam said that this kind of skill innovation opportunities should be provided to the younger generation. He also stated that the partnership with Boeing will help the people of Nagaland to progress further and innovation will gradually progress and all effort must be given to be a state success story. He also appreciated the Joint Secretary of IDAN, Renny Wilfred, and his team for tirelessly working for the welfare of the state as well as for the younger generation.

Special address was given by Ramesh Swamy, CEO, Unnati skill Centre India, Sudeep Dube, Partner, Learning Links Foundation, Praveena Yagnambhat, chief of staff & BGE Lead, Boeing, Thavaseenlan K, IAS, Principal Director, School Education, Kenilo Apon, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, Er. M. Nakro, Director, Technical Education. & Dr. Katoni Jakhalu, Director, Higher Education. They said that the Unnati skill aims to educate the community in providing job opportunities to the unemployed youth and weaker sections of the state.

A welcome address was given by Renny Wilfred, IAS, Joint Secretary, IDAN. He thanked Praveena Yagnambhat chief of staff & BGE Lead, Boeing international for proposing to set up a youth empowerment center in Nagaland. He said this will ultimately lead to the setting up of a Unnati Skill Centre in Nagaland. He thanked the Department of Technical Education for coming selflessly and acting as the facilitating agency to take forward the ongoing project in the state. Wilfred further mentioned that the Unnati training will be for 35 days with 100 percent job placement and the courses offered are GST, Spoken English, Computer Skills, Life skills, Hygiene, Counselling, and Confidence building in the community. Wilfred also stated that Unnati will provide job placement to the trainees as per their competencies in various companies. He highlighted and appreciated the initiatives of the IDAN led by Alemtemshi Jamir, CEO, and acknowledged him in the inaugural function of CSR Initiatives, Unnati skill Centre at Kohima for being the guiding force for setting up the training center in the state.

Nagaland Chief Secretary J. Alam Inaugurated the project supported by Boeing namely, Unnati Skill Centre Kohima, UNXT programme for Nagaland, Innovation Studio, and Solar power backup for Examination Cell for 10 Government Colleges in Nagaland. 

After the Inauguration of the four projects, Praveena Yagnambhat handed over MOU to the Chief Secretary of Nagaland J. Alam IAS. In closing M. Kire Joint Director of Higher Education gave the vote of thanks.
