The 77th Indian Independence Day was celebrated at Cheiphobozou Local Ground on 15th August 2023 with Er. Picto Shohe, MLA

He unfurled the national flag and took the Rashtriya Salute from the Parade Contingents comprised of 10th IRB Zadima, Ex- Servicemen Chiechama, GHSS Chiechama, GHS Nerhema Model and, DBS Chiephobozuo (boys and girls). 

Cultural item were performed by Zadima Village Council and Merima Village Council. While DIET Chiechama and College of Arts & Technology, Nerhe Phezha gave the special presentation. The personnel from Fire Station, Chiephobozuo gave the demonstration on how to extinguish fire and its safety measures. The MLA also inaugurated the exhibition stall.
