On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, H. Sethrongkyu, Advisor for IT & Communication, Economics & Statistics, and Evolution hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute in Longkhim. He gave the Independence Day speech and led the reading of the pledge for a drug-free Nagaland, which was echoed by government employees, participants, and the public.

The event featured a parade with nine contingents, led by Haveldar Major VG Tsiose. Stalls by the Agriculture Department, 12th Assam Rifles, and Self Help Groups were inaugurated by the Advisor. Cultural performances and entertainment items, including special presentations by Lümkhata Shangruti Mulong and Akehta Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang, added to the festive atmosphere.
