Niuland Town was alive with patriotic spirit as it celebrated the 77th Independence Day. Zhaleo Rio, Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs hoisted the National Flag at Niuland Public Ground. He also received the Rastriya Salute from 12 distinct contingents led by parade commander Dr. L. Nongothung Yanthan, Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The Advisor delivered the Independence Day speech and also presented the District Commendation certificate to the Niuland Area Citizens Forum. Special presentations were made by various educational institutions, and folk dances added cultural vibrancy. The Chief Guest inaugurated Exhibition Stalls, followed by a Tug of War competition and the beating of the retreat ceremony.
