MLA, P. Longon unfurled the National Flag during the Independence Day Celebration at Public Ground Noklak Hq on 15th August 2023.

P. Longon unfurled the national flag, took Rashtriya Salute from Eleven contingents and read out Independence Day Speech during the occasion. The Parade Contingents were DEF/3rd NAP, Village Guard Platoon Langnok, Village Guard Platoon Aniashu, ex-Servicemen Pensioner, NCC Cadet, NCC Noklak, Red Cross, GHS Noklak Village, Christian High School, Noklak, Holy Angel School Noklak and St. Paul School Noklak. Longon also administered the pledge on War on Drugs during the occasion. 

During the presentation of awards, wardees of District Commendation Award included J. Khumong, Project Manager, Targeted Intervention Project Under KBCA:  136/Hav S, Thiamo Khimn, Asst RO (E) DEF Noklak; 140/THC Moawapang, 2i/c of Crime Branch Noklak; Menshei, ANM District Hospital Noklak ; and M.Thangsoi, Jugali (Elect) Power Department Noklak. The Awardees of Commendation Certificate for Service rendered during Assembly Election 2023 were P. Hangthing Khiamniungan, AHM GHS Noklak Village ; L. Beyan, PGT GHSS Noklak; H. Lusang PT GPS Noklak HQ ; Puto Khiamniungan, AFA Noklak ; M. Suko Khiamniungan, LDA cum Computer Assistant Casual hand ; and Pukoi P, LDA cum Computer Asst Casual hand.

Special presentation by the Frolic band, Tug of War between all Ward Union vrs Dobashis, Exhibition football matches between DPDB vrs Khiamniungan Tribal Council, Institutional visit at District Hospital and Creative Friendship Centre for Children/Adora Children’s Home by various departments were the highlights of the day. Longon also inaugurated of exhibition stalls set up by various departments and Self Help Groups by the MLA were the highlights of the program. The programme ended with beating of the retreat.
