Pughoboto, along with the rest of the nation, celebrated the 77th Independence Day at the Local Ground Pughoboto. Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, MLA, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The celebrations commenced with the MLA taking the Rashtriya salute, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, parade inspection, and the speech.

A pledge for a Drug-free Nagaland was administered under the guidance of Dr. Sukhato A. Sema. The Chief Guest also inaugurated exhibition stalls and the CCTVs/security system at the Pughoboto Police Station, reinforcing law and order measures.

Mission school students contributed to the festivities with a stirring patriotic song.
