Chumoukedima district celebrated Independence Day at Chumoukedima Town Public Ground.

On arrival, Minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi hoisted the National Flag, took the Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents, and read out the Independence Day speech. The review of the parade was done by DCP Chumoukedima, Munesh. The March Past was led by T. Henthai Phom, ACP Traffic as a parade commander and 21/C- Armed Branch Inspector, Pachio of 1st NAP Battalion as a second in command.

The celebration was marked by cultural presentations from Chekiye Cultural Troupe, Kuki Cultural Troupe, Phom Cultural Troupe, and Yimkhiung Cultural Troupe. The celebration also witnessed performances from Pijus Barua CN, C.P Dimapur; Lulu Rakho, Godwin HR. Sec. School and Choreography by Nagaland Police Central School, Chumoukedima. The minister also inaugurated the exhibition stalls. The programme ended with the beating of the retreat by the 15th NAP (IR) Mahila pipe band.
