In commemoration of 75th "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" Kiphire Aspirational District celebrates 76th Independence Day on 15th August 2022 at Public Ground Kiphire with Minister Soil & water conservation, Geology & Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam as the special guest.

Earlier the national flag was hoisted in all the government Offices and Private Buildings.

The Special guest inspected the parade Contingents and delivered his 76th Independence Day speech.

Altogether nine parade Contingents participated in the parade namely, 41 Assam Rifle, DEF Kiphire, 14th NAP (IR), VG, Scouts, Guides, Zisaji Presidency College ( NCC), GHSS Kiphire (NCC), 41 Assam Rifles band. The parade commanders were Asst. Commander N.G Hingba Zeliang 14th NAP (IR) and ABI Muluto Veswuh 14th NAP (IR).

During the entertainment session, Agape School perform the line dance, Special presentation by Yopichum, Special Song by JNV Kiphire and Cultural Dance by Tikhir Tribal union Kiphire and Akehta Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang which was followed by prize distribution from District Administration Kiphire. Certificates were awarded to 12 Villages and two Schools under Kiphire District for 100% successful completion of 2nd Dose Covid Vaccine. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of School Level Oratory Competition where first position was bagged by Eunice L Sangtam and second by Thingrila A both from Saramati View Modern School Kiphire.

Altogether 11 stalls were set up by different departments and SHGs under Kiphire After the function the team visited Shalom Children's Home, Jail and District Hospital Kiphire.
