The Occasion in Longleng was celebrated with Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, S. Pangnyu Phom as the Special Guest at the Public Ground, Longleng Headquarter.

Phom read out the Independence Day speech, unfurled the National Flag, Inspected the Ceremonial Parade Contingents, and took the Rashtriya salute from the 9 (nine) Parade contingents comprising of the DEF Longleng, 12th NAP (IR) Chingtok, Village Guard, St. Joseph High School, Yingli College, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, Christian High School, Good Shepherd High School and SPC, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School. The National Anthem was sung by the Students of Phom Lempong School.

Folk Dance by Noklangkong Adhoc Ward and Yongnyah Union, Longleng town; Modern Folk Fusion by Leinak youth; Exhibition Match (Tug of War) by Driver's Union Vrs Chamber of Commerce, Phomla Hoichem Vrs PSC (Women) and All Ward Union Vrs DBs &  GBs; March Past by the Parade Contingents; Presentation of District Awards to 4 (four) Government Officers and 10 (Ten) other III & IV grade staff of various departments; inauguration of Exhibition cum Sale Stalls by the Special Guest and Free COVID-19 Vaccination Drive by the Medical Department were the highlights of the day-long program.
