The 76th Celebration of the Indian Independence day was celebrated at Local Ground Medziphema, Sub-Division, on 15th August 2022 with Advisor for Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio Retd IAS graced the occasion as the Chief guest.

The Chief Guest unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya Salute followed by singing of the National Anthem by students of SFSHSS. He then inspected the parade contingents and delivered the Independence Day speech. Six (6) contingents took part in the March Past which was led by Parade Commander ABI Neichuzo Rio, Commissioner of Police Office (DEF) Dimapur. The contingents which took part in the March past were 10th IR NAP, NCC Girls SFS Hr. Sec School Medziphema, SFS Hr. Sec School Boys Medziphema, GHSS Medziphema, King David Hr. Sec School Medziphema and Chakroma Baptist Mission School Medziphema. 

Other highlights include Cultural Presentation by Medziphema Village Youth Organization and Kuki Cultural Troupe.
