Advisor, Fisheries &  Aquatic Resources, Economic & Statistics and Evaluation, Government of Nagaland, L. Khumo hoisted the National Flag at Noklak Hq during the occasion.

L. Khumo took the Rashtriya Salute from 12 (twelve) parade contingents and read out the Independence Day Speech.

The parade contingents comprised DEF/NAP, Village Guard Kingniu, Village Guard Lengnyu, Ex-Serviceman, SPC, NCC, GHS Noklak Village, CHS Noklak, St. Paul School, JRC, Holy Angel School, and 14 Assam Rifles Pipe band.

The Parade Commander was Assistant Commandant, F COY 3rd NAP Noklak, Logubu Nsu, and the Parade 2 I/c was ABSI Pengthang DEF Noklak.

Advisor L. Khumo handed over the District Commendation Award during the occasion.

Other highlights of the programme were Cultural dance performed by Lengnyu Village Guards and exhibition stalls showcased by various Agri and allied departments which were inaugurated by Advisor L. Khumo.

In the parade category, DEF/NAP, NCC GHSS Noklak, and GHS Noklak Village won first second, and third respectively.

And in the exhibition stall competition, Fisheries &  Aquatic Resources department, Agriculture department, and Forest department were adjudged first, second and third respectively.

To mark the occasion, District Administration and Indian Red Cross Society, Noklak branch visited District Hospital, Noklak, whereas, the Department of Agriculture visited Adora Children's Home.

And in the evening programme, a Football Exhibition match was played between District Planning & Development Board XI (DPDB XI) and Khiamniungan Tribal Council XI (KTC XI).
The Beating of Retreat was performed by the 14 Assam Rifles Pipe Band.
