In Peren, T.R. Zeliang, Chairman of UDA unfurled the National Flag and took Rashtriya salute from the parade contingents at Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex.

During the programme, T.R. Zeliang gave away the certificate of commendation to two successful entrepreneurs of Peren District namely- Aleuna Ndang and Pausuina Herie. The event also witnessed a march past by the DEF Peren, 9th IRB Saijang, GHSS Peren, All Saints Hr. Sec. School Peren, Sainik School Punglwa, and Peren Government College NCC. The parade contingents were led by Dy. SP, Ngimchule Nampeung while parade review was done by Sr. SP, Peren.

Highlights of the day included the hoisting of the National Flag in all Govt. Offices/Residences/Institutions; dance by Peren Village Council Cultural Troupe, Heraka Cultural Troupe, Jalukie B, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jalukie. 

In Jalukie town, the day was also successfully celebrated at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Ground with Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire as the Special Guest. 

The day-long celebration ended with the Beating of Retreat by District Executive Force, Peren.
